LeBron James ejection: Second time NBA star has been sent off court

LeBron James was ejected from Sunday's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Detroit Pistons after hitting the Pistons' Isaiah Stewart in the face with his elbow and a near-brawl broke out between both teams.

LeBron's strike was deemed a foul.

Stewart was also ejected, after repeatedly trying to attack James despite the efforts of coaches and stewards, and players from both teams, to restrain him.

And despite Stewart's bleeding face wound following the third-quarter blow from LeBron.

Second ejection in NBA career

LeBron's ejection was only the second time in 19 seasons with the NBA that he has been ordered off court.

The first time was in In November 2017, when James was playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, when he was ejected after arguing a call with referee Kane Fitzgerald during a game against the Miami Heat.

In the third quarter of that game, James believed he was fouled on a shot and turned to argue with Fitzgerald after not hearing a whistle. It only took a few seconds of arguing, but James was tossed from the game with an entire quarter to go on a double-technical.

The Cavaliers won that game 108-97, however. And despite LeBron's ejection on Sunday, the Lakers beat the Pistons 121-116.
