Packers, Aaron Rodgers, Adam Lazard fined for violating COVID-19 protocols

Following the conclusion of the NFL's investigation into the procedures that led to the COVID-19 infection of several Green Bay Packers players, the league reportedly punished the team playing at Lambeau Field.

According to information from ESPN's Rob Demovsky, the NFL will fine Green Bay $300,000, and both quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Adam Lazard $14,650.

Halloween party banned

Demovsky consulted an anonymous league source who informed him that the violations including the fact that Rodgers, who is not vaccinated, chose not to wear masks at a press conference, plus both the quarterback and Lazard reportedly attended a Halloween party off the Packers' facility and the Cheeseheads team failed to report it to the NFL offices in New York.

These actions constitute violations of the protocol agreed to by the NFL and the Players Association.

According to the protocol, players who are not vaccinated, which is the case with Rodgers and Lazard, cannot attend meetings of more than three people, and the players were also punished.

We respect the League's findings

Mark Murphy

"We respect the League's findings and we recognize the importance of adherence to the COVID protocols to keep our team and organization safe and healthy," Packers president Mark Murphy said to ESPN. "We will continue to educate the team regarding the importance of the protocols and remain committed to operating within the protocols."

Both Rodgers and Lazard tested positive for COVID-19 and missed Green Bay games this season.
