Aaron Donald's 100th sack: A milestone only one other DT in history has achieved

If the Los Angeles Rams are the defending Super Bowl champions, much of that is due to defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who has consistently been recognized as the best at his position in the entire NFL, this Sunday reached a milestone that brings him closer to being the best in history playing in the middle of the defensive line.

Donald made a sack in the Rams' 20-12 win over the Arizona Cardinals, and with it, he reached the magic number of 100 in his career, only the second defensive tackle to reach that milestone.

Who is the other DT in the 100 sack club?

It is important to say that sacks are a statistic that the NFL began officially keeping in 1982 and since then the only other defensive tackle to reach that number was Hall of Famer John Randle, who accumulated 137.5 in a career that ran from 1990 to 2000 with the Minnesota Vikings and from 2001 to 2003 with the Seattle Seahawks.

Donald's milestone came in the first quarter of the week three game after he took down quarterback Kyler Murray 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage and racked up six tackles during this matchup of two NFC West rivals.

Aaron Donald, the driving force behind the Rams' resurgence

It was Donald's second sack of the season and he has helped the Rams to their second consecutive win, after being humiliated by the Buffalo Bills in the NFL Kickoff by a score of 31-10, they rebounded to beat the Atlanta Falcons 31-27 in Week 2.

Los Angeles will have to prove that they are serious about their recovery when they visit the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, October 3 in a rematch of the NFC Championship Game.
