USMNT legend Landon Donovan reveals shocking prediction for Mexico in Qatar World Cup

One of the great 'enemies' of the Mexican National Team for several years is USMNT legend Landon Donovan, who predicted that El Tri will not do very well in the Qatar World Cup because the group they are in is very complicated.

Donovan, who had some of his best moments with the U.S. national team when playing against Mexico, and who played for Club León, believes that El Tri will make a great effort to get past the group stage, but sees it as difficult for them to do so.

The big challenge for Mexico will be the match against Saudi Arabia

Speaking prior to the start of the World Cup, Donovan commented: "Poland has a killer like (Robert) Lewandowski, but the most interesting match, for me, will be the one Mexico has against Saudi Arabia. Because they are next to Qatar and I think they will have 30, 40, 50 thousand fans in the stadium."

"It will be an away game and not only for Mexico, also for Argentina and Poland."

Mexico arrives in Qatar ranked 13th in the world, ahead of Poland and the Arabs (their Group C opponents), but below Argentina, which comes into the World Cup as the No. 3 team and is one of the favorites to lift the cup.

Donovan sees USMNT in Qatar Final

Another of Donovan's predictions is that he sees the USMNT reaching the Final, getting past the group stage, then Ecuador in the second round, France in the Quarterfinals and Cameroon in the semifinals to face Brazil in the final match.

Mexico kicks off its World Cup campaign on Tuesday, November 22 when it plays Lewandowski's Poland at the 974 Stadium.
