Aaron Rodgers' contract maneuvers helped the Jets and Packers, QB will play for just $1 million dollars in 2023

On Wednesday, Rodgers had his introductory press conference with the Jets and expressed how he's excited about his opportunity to help the franchise achieve great things.

Aaron Rodgers will earn over $107 million in 2024 with the Jets

Now it's been reported that helps includes the structure of his contract after the trade, as the quarterback will have a guaranteed salary of just a bit over $1 million dollars this season, lowering his salary cap hit to help New York get the best possible team around him.

While he'll be earning over $107.5 million dollars in 2024, a one season salary that seems outrageous, as well as the salary cap hit for the Jets according to Over the Cap, but it's expected they'll rework that deal next offseason.

This is because the Packers turned the quarterback's 2023 option bonus into 2024 salary before the trade, doing the Jets a favor as part of the agreement, in return they're saving $14.6 million in cap room this season, so Rodgers did them a favor as well.
