Lamar Jackson agrees to a 5-year / $260 million contract extension: He's the new highest paid player in the NFL

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they've agreed in principle to a 5-year contract extension with their franchise quarterback, Lamar Jackson.

Jackson said that there's been a lot of he's said and she's said in the last few months, while speaking on a video posted by the Ravens this Thursday ahead of the NFL draft.

"A lot of nail biting, a lot of head scratching going on, but for the next five years, it's a lot of flock going on. Let's go baby. Let's go. Let's go man. Can't wait to get there. Can't to be there. Can't wait to light up M&T for the next five years, man. Let's get it," Jackson expressed.

Lamar Jackson had posted a cryptic tweet prior to the announcement

NFL fans and media speculated yesterday about Lamar Jackson posting a SpongeBob Squarepants GIF on Tuesday night.

This same GIF was posted today by the Baltimore Ravens a few minutes before the official announcement, with the terms of the deal being 5-years and $260 million for Lamar, with the guaranteed money still haven't being released
