Haaland faces his bogey team

Manchester City and Bayern Munich face off this Tuesday night in probably the most anticipated tie of the Champions League quarter-finals.

Two giants face each other with the aim of continuing to advance in the top continental competition without neglecting their respective leagues, where both are fighting for the title against Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, respectively.

The tie will also present a challenge to Erling Haaland, as he once again faces his own particular enemy. That's because whenever he has played against Bayern, he has lost.

Erling Haaland's record vs Bayern Munich

In total, Haaland has faced the Bavarian side seven times, all of them as a Borussia Dortmund player, five in the Bundesliga and two in the German Super Cup. The result was the same in all matches, as he lost them all.

In fact, Bayern is the only team against whom Haaland has played five or more games and never even been able to draw.

This is despite the fact that he has performed well against them individually. He has scored five goals in those seven games.

Manchester City's latest Champions League attempt

The Champions League is Manchester City's great obsession, but Pep Guardiola has always tried to avoid publicly acknowledging it.

In the run-up to the game, Guardiola compared his Sky Blue side to Michael Jordan's career.

"He only managed six rings in 16 seasons because, in sport, you lose more than you win," Guardiola said.

"The important thing is to be here and compete well."

With Haaland in fine form, with 11 goals in his last four games, his enemy awaits at the Etihad.
