Klopp Shuts Down Real Madrid Talk: "It's All Just Nonsense"

Jürgen Klopp has categorically denied reports linking him to the managerial position at Real Madrid, describing the speculation as baseless and confirming he has received no approach from the Spanish club.

Speaking on Monday during his role as a television pundit for the World Cup, the former Liverpool manager addressed the recent rumors with characteristic bluntness.

"It's all just nonsense," Klopp said. "They haven't even called once, not one single time. And my agent is over there, you can ask him too, they haven't called him either."

Klopp has not coached since departing Liverpool in 2024, citing exhaustion after a transformative nine-year spell at Anfield. He currently serves as head of global soccer for the Red Bull organization, overseeing the company's portfolio of clubs including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, and the New York Red Bulls.

When asked about a potential return to coaching, including speculation that he could be in contention for the Germany national team should Julian Nagelsmann depart after the World Cup, Klopp remained evasive but indicated no immediate interest.

"At the moment I'm obviously not thinking about that at all and luckily there isn't any reason to do that," he said, as reported by German news agency dpa.

Klopp's comments come amid reports in the Austrian press suggesting his role at Red Bull had come under internal review. The organization has since publicly expressed its satisfaction with his performance, with a spokesperson stating the company is "extremely satisfied" with his contributions since taking on the role last year.
