Chelsea Legend Bobby Tambling Passes Away at 84

Bobby Tambling, the Chelsea great who held the club's all-time scoring record for 43 years, has died at 84.
The Blues confirmed the news Thursday, calling him "one of our most legendary players."
Tambling scored 202 goals in 370 appearances for Chelsea between 1959 and 1970. No one passed him until Frank Lampard in 2013. His five-goal match against Aston Villa in 1966 remains a club record.
He won the League Cup with Chelsea in 1965, scoring in the final against Leicester. He also played for Crystal Palace and earned three England caps.
Later in life, Tambling moved to Cork, Ireland, where he managed several local clubs, including Crosshaven.
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that Crosshaven AFC announce the passing of our dear friend and former manager," the Irish club wrote on X. "Bobby leaves an enormous hole in all our lives. We are all better, kinder, and richer for having known him."
Chelsea said: "His name is written very large in our history."
