Christopher Froome wins 2017 Tour de France

Christopher Froome won the Tour de France for the fourth time.

Even before the final stage of the 104th edition of the race, the Briton had such a large lead that his overall victory was considered safe.

"It's a great honor to be called in the same breath as the greatest in the history of the Tour, and I've never dreamed of getting so close to Merckx, Anquetil or Indurain," Froome said after the race.

His lead over second-placed Rigoberto Urán (Colombia) was 54 seconds in the end.
