MotoGP Brno: Dovizioso wins thrilling triple fight

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) won the Czech Grand Prix in Brno, marking the tenth race of the 2018 MotoGP season. The Italian prevailed in a close race against his Ducati team-mate Jorge Lorenzo and championship leader Marc Marquez (Honda). For Dovi it is the second win of the season since the opening race in Qatar.

Dovizioso, Lorenzo and Marquez emerged as the strongest riders in a thrilling race in which several riders in the top group got involved. But in the last rounds it was clear that the fight for victory was between these three riders. Dovizioso has been in the lead since the 11th of 21 rounds, followed by Marquez. Lorenzo had to fight past Cal Crutchlow (LCR-Honda) before he could put pressure on the two front runners.

Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) finished in fourth. The "Doctor" was very strong at the beginning of the race, and he even led the race for long stretches of the first half. As the only driver of the top group he was on the medium front tire while all others took the hard. Maybe that's why he fell off in the second half of the race and had to let first Dovizioso and Marquez pass, later also Lorenzo and even Crutchlow.
