Alpine Skiing: Mikaela Shiffrin stucked in the chairlift

Ski star Mikaela Shiffrin has probably ridden chairlifts thousands of times in her career. But on Wednesday the US-American experienced a real moment of shock in St. Moritz. Shiffrin got stuck in the lift during a training session in the Swiss luxury resort.

During the trip, the four-seat chairlift suddenly stopped. Speakers talked about a technical problem. Shiffrin, who was stuck in the lift with mother Eileen, stayed calm at first. But suddenly the lift began to reverse.

"She spoke of the chairlift accident in Georgia and that she would jump down, but we were eleven, twelve meters above the ground," said Andrea Pedrazzetti, who was stuck in the elevator together with the American.

"I then translated the announcements from the speakers and she calmed down again - there was never any danger," said the ski instructor.

Mikaela Shiffrin does not stop to amaze the ski world. She is the seventh race driver in history after her Super G victory, winning in all disciplines. Many records are no longer left for the American, who is also very young.
