Formula 1: Hamilton wins in Bahrain


Mercedes has used a dramatic engine issue from Ferrari and celebrated the double victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix. World Champion Lewis Hamilton (Great Britain) won the second race of the season on Sunday ahead of his team-mate Valtteri Bottas (Finland). Ferrari's youngster Charles Leclerc (Monaco), who lost dramatically in the closing stages and had to give up his sovereign lead yet, was ultimately only third.

Sebastian Vettel made a duel in the duel with Hamilton still in the fight for second place and ultimately came only in fifth place to the finish. In the WRC classification after two races, start-up winner Bottas (44 points) continues Hamilton (43), Leclerc (26) and Vettel (22) are only in fourth and fifth place behind Red Bull driver Max Verstappen (Netherlands / 27 ).
