Tchouameni a target for Real Madrid: Monaco want 60 million euros

France international Aurelien Tchouameni has been attracting a lot of interest from around Europe and he remains very much on Real Madrid's radar, although Monaco will be looking for 60 million euros to tempt them to the negotiating table.

Los Blancos have their eyes on the 21-year-old with a view to strengthening their midfield next summer as there is a growing consensus that it is an area which needs freshening up with new, younger legs.

Tchouameni has shone in France's last two games, having made his senior debut in September, and has been identified by Real Madrid as having all the qualities necessary to be a top defensive midfielder and a potential Casemiro replacement.

With his presence and defensive strengths, he would offer Los Blancos something they are short of in midfield and that makes him a different prospect to Eduardo Camavinga or even Paul Pogba, who remains another option.

Pogba is a different type of player, but Real Madrid are keeping tabs on him nonetheless and the possibility of bringing in a player of his calibre on a free is one which is very appealing.

The recent signs, however, seem to indicate that the former Juventus player could be leaning towards staying at Manchester United.

Tchouameni, meanwhile, would certainly command a high fee, especially as several English clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, have been tracking his development.

After coming through at Bordeaux, Monaco signed him for 18 million euros in January 2020, so they will be looking to make a sizeable profit when the time comes.
