Bucks beat Pacers to put NBA on notice with 7 straight wins

Actualizado

The Milwaukee Bucks keep climbing up the standings in the East, getting their seventh consecutive win after beating the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was the leading scorer for his team with 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting. He added 13 boards to his statline with one block and three assists.

The Greek Freak continues to dominate in the paint, only attempting two shots from downtown. Even though he missed both triples, Giannis has been a much better shooter from the charity stripe this season, sinking 6 of 10 at Indiana.

Khris Middleton put up a quiet 14 points with a handful of rebounds and assists. Middleton has yet to reach 20 points in a game since returning from his COVID illness.

Holiday brothers go head-to-head

Jrue Holiday and older brother Justin faced each other as the game within the game. In the end, the Milwaukee point-guard won that individual matchup.

Jrue scored 23 points in 30 minutes to go along with 7 boards and 9 dimes. Justin was only able to drop a 10-piece in 25 minutes with a couple of rebounds and assists.

Sabonis embarrassed by Giannis

Bucks managed to stop Domantas Sabonis, holding him to four points on a single made shot from the field. Sabonis attempted eight shots, getting his other two points from the free-throw line.

He had 10 rebounds and five assists, but Giannis was too much for the Lithuanian, leaving him scoreless throughout the entire first half of action. Myles Turner also struggled, going 1-4 from the field with eight boards and one assist.

Bucks will now host the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday while Pacers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow at Target Center. Pacers are currently bottom three in the East with a 9-13 record.

Put some respect on the Greek Freak's name

Giannis is one of the most humble athletes in basketball, and despite winning two league MVPs, a DPOY, and of course, an NBA title with a Finals MVP to go with it, the narrative is still far from being on his side. Bucks are the reigning NBA champions, but there are still many teams ahead for favorites to win this year.

The same goes for the Phoenix Suns, who have 16 wins in a row, but nobody seems to believe they can overcome the Golden State Warriors or the Los Angeles Lakers in the West. Suns lost the NBA Finals to the Bucks last year, so they'll be looking to take it all this season.
