Steph Curry outplays Paul George as Warriors beat Clippers

The Golden State Warriors are currently the best team in the NBA, improving their record to 18-2 after beating the Los Angeles Clippers.

Steph Curry also keeps making the case for Most Valuable Player this season as he not only continues to shoot exceptionally well, but is also putting up defensive stats unlike any other time throughout his career.

Curry scored 33 points on 12 of 22 shooting to extend his team's winning streak to eight. He dropped 7 three-pointers and recorded an impressive 6 steals with only 3 turnovers.

Led by Curry, Warriors set a season high 19 steals. They also continued the trend of scoring over 100 points in every one of their games this season.

Paul George was his side's leading scorer with 30 points but turned the ball over 8 times with only 5 assists. Eric Bledsoe reached 10,000 career points with a 3-point make in the first quarter on his way to 13 points for the night.

Golden State controlled the entire match, heading into halftime ahead by 2 points (44-42) before going on an 11-2 run to start the third quarter. Clippers were able to cut the Warriors lead to one point before the third quarter came to a close.

However, Golden State again went on a huge 26-9 scoring run to end the third and throughout most of the fourth period. Curry iced the game with a dagger three 5 minutes before the final buzzer.

Otto Porter Jr attends the Poole party

Otto Porter Jr had a breakout game with 18 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a couple of steals. This was his best performance of the season, hitting 3 triples on 50% shooting with a single turnover.

While Porter Jr impressed Warriors fans with his share of baskets, Jordan Poole no longer surprises viewers with his numbers. Even though he had an off night based on his standards, Poole tallied 17 points with four shots from downtown on 6 of 16 from the field.

What's next for LAC and GSW?

Clippers had won 8 of their last 10 home games and Warriors are undefeated on the road. Golden State will now travel to Phoenix on Tuesday to take on the red-hot Suns, who boast a 16-win streak.

Clippers, who tied their season-high 15 offensive rebounds, will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. They will hope to take better care of the ball after 25 turnovers that led to 31 points by Golden State.
