Warriors' cheat code: Playing with Curry shouldn't be allowed

Stephen Curry is making a strong case to win his third MVP award, as the Golden State Warriors point guard is playing at an extremely high level and has guided his team to a record of 18-2 after the first 20 games of the season.

The 33-year-old has played in 19 of those games and is averaging an impressive 28.4 points per game to go with 5.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists.

What's more, Curry scored seven three-pointers from the 13 he took in the Warriors' 105-90 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, which takes his total of makes beyond the arc up to 105 for the season.

Curry has now beaten the record he set in 2015 and 2018 by becoming the fastest player to reach 100 three-pointers in a season, and understandably he is getting a lot of recognition for his play on the court.

"I thought I got fouled, so I let my emotions go," said Curry in relation to a play where he thought he was fouled by Clippers small forward Terrence Mann.

"And definitely fired me up, fired our team up - you have to be able to direct that energy into just putting the ball in the basket, obviously, after that. So that's where I feel like we do it well, where you don't let it become a distraction for the rest of the game, and it obviously helped open up the game."

The Warriors have now won their last eight games in a row and have the best record in the league, just ahead of the 17-3 Phoenix Suns.
